Thank You to Mrs. Reed and the Pantherettes who performed at the Chateau Notre Dame on Feburary 19.The residence loved your children.
The Middle School students visited the Black History Museum in Hammond,LA as part of their studies on Black History. The students did projects rather than a program due to a tight schedule.
Terra Nova- It is urgent that every student take the test seriously. The test is long and boring. But,it is essential that the students remain on task.We don't want to frighten students. We want then to do their BEST which the don't always do.
Registration
Pre-K4 We have the paper work to begin the process.
We ask everyone who is returning for the 2010 school year to register as soon as possible.
Did you know that the students who turn in their reading lists(10 books or more)recive prizes from the prize window? Fr.Hayes has given us may very nice items
LENT- the spring time of the church-The church gives us 40 days to get our lives in order for Easter-The Ressurrection-The greatest feast in the church year.Lent is a time to pull up the weeds of sin and bad hyabbits. It is a time to plant virtues-kindness,concern,obidence to the laws of God,forgiveness, etc. It is a time to grow closer to the Lord.
May the Lord bless your Lenten journey.
SERVICE HOURS - Parents be sure to mark your time in the office. Participation in field trips, ball games, speech tournaments and the like count towards your six hours. Help is needed in the cafeteria for breakfast between 7:30 and 8:00 each morning. Don't just stand in the yard wiating for the bell to ring - COME HELP US!!!!
Also remind your children not to come for a second breakfast if they had already eaten. Some children take a plate and throw it away just to sit by their friends. Others take two bites and throw the food away. We could feed a village with the food we waste.
ATTENDANCE - EVERY MINUTE LATE AND EVERY MINUTE THAT A STUDENT CHECKS OUT EARLY IS DEDUCTED FROM THEIR ATTENDANCE. A SCHOOL DAY IS 360 MINUTES LONG. WHEN 360 MINUTES HAVE BEEN ACCUMULATED THEY EQUAL A DAY ABSENT. MINUTES ARE ROLLED OVER TO THE NEXT REPROT CARD. SEVERAL STUDENTS HAVE ALREADY REACHED THIS NUMBER.
UNIFROM REGULATIONS: ONLY SOLID NAVY jackets, sweaters are allowed at school. Colored coats may be worn to school when the weather is extreme. SHOES - SOLID BLACK K-SWISS style.
